In 2014 Natalie was laid off from a job of 11 years due to failing health. She was a middle-aged lady with multiple incurable, progressively painful, disabling, potentially fatal autoimmune diseases. The doctor "prescribed" she needed a mental hobby to keep from becoming depressed and deteriorating. She got busy writing about local history. HER story is, never give up, whatever your challenges. She has so far written over two dozen Grayson County history books and true ghost story books including "The History of Building the Denison Dam;" many Pottsboro history books, " “Texoma's Red River"; "Quantrill's Raiders in North Texas;" multiple volumes of "When the West Was Wild"; and more. Her books are available at Amazon, at the Main Street Mall and Frontier Village Museum in Denison and Buxton Nook in Pottsboro.
