Well-rounded communities are attractive to visitors and are inviting to new residents, and higher education is part of the mix that brings vitality to a community. Grayson College’s training and academic transfer programs have been adding to the educational and cultural enrichment of our area for 50 years.
GC’s greatest strengths are its small classes for personalized instruction, affordable tuition, caring professional instructors, and the convenience of day, evening or Internet classes. The College provides a variety of cultural and recreational opportunities for its students and the community:
The Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts program trains students through traditional classroom discussions that lead to practical experiences in the student-run restaurant “Six Ninety One”. Students prepare and serve fine dining for patrons who visit the restaurant located on FM 691 on the College’s Main Campus. Reservations are available during selected days during the Fall and Spring semesters by calling 903.415.2605.
Students also rely on patrons to complete their training in Cosmetology. For a small fee, guests can get hair and nail treatments as well as facials and more.
Grayson College has a reputation throughout the region for producing top notch nurses, emergency medical technicians/ paramedics, and other health care professionals.
The College recently expanded its South Campus in nearby Van Alstyne with the addition of a Technical Center. This new building houses an expanded Welding program, Medical Laboratory Technology, and new training opportunities as an Electrician, and new courses in Occupational Safety and Health.
