Recently, Landmark Bank purchased a new Gazebo located in Friendship Park behind the Pottsboro Visitor Center. When asked why Landmark chose to buy the community a Gazebo, Diana Williams, Landmark Bank President, said, “last summer when I was attending an event in Sherman, I really admired their Gazebo, an idea began to form and I decided that was exactly what Pottsboro needed for Frontier Day, and the many events that take place in Friendship Park.
As community bankers, we’re always looking for ways to be engaged with our local communities. The new Gazebo provides us an opportunity to do just that,” said Diana. During conversations with the City of Pottsboro, Diana learned that plans had been started to purchase a Gazebo, but the plans had been put on hold. Following the Bank’s purchase of the Gazebo, the City had the Gazebo assembled, installed the electrical, steps, and skirting. A stage has also been added. The Gazebo is being landscaped by the “Keep Pottsboro Beautiful” committee. Diana shares credit for the Gazebo project with many others in the Pottsboro community and at the City offices. “I think this is something Pottsboro can be proud of and enjoy for many years to come,” she added.
