The Pottsboro Senior Center will host guest speaker Natalie Bauman, columnist for the Pottsboro Sun Newspaper at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 30. Ms. Bauman will be speaking about gathering our local history for preservation on “The Portal to Texas History”, a gateway to Texas history materials. The public is invited to attend, bring their information to the library for scanning, and eat lunch. Advance reservations for lunch are required by 5 p.m., Wednesday, October 29 by calling 903-327-3728. Lunch is no charge for those 60 years or older, or guests may pay $5.50 for lunch or bring their own brown bag. The menu will be country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, wheat bread and apple cobbler.

Natalie Bauman has also published a book, “Pottsboro Texas and Lake Texoma Then…and Now. It is available at the Chamber Office for $18.00. This book includes maps, black and white photos, color photos and wonderful historical information about the area. This would make a great Christmas gift, and you will want one for yourself too!
